Scott Neil

DCP Midstream, Retired VP of Engineering

Scott Neil, retired (2019) as the VP of Engineering for DCP Midstream, one of the nation’s largest processors of natural gas and transporter of natural gas liquids.  He has worked across Oklahoma, Texas, and Colorado. He completed registration in Petroleum Engineering in 1985.  Scott has worked in all phases of the technical side of the midstream business, notably: Facility Engineer (13 gas processing plants and systems), Project Management (1 new gas processing plant), Design (5 new gas processing plants, one 700 mile NGL pipeline) Project Development, Operations Supervision, and Leadership. ​ In that role, Scott led the Field Engineering and Reliability Engineering groups in the 5 regions for DCP: Rockies, Mid-Continent, Gulf Coast, Permian, and NGL Logistics.  The team was responsible for technical support and minor project management for DCP’s 50 gas processing plants and gathering systems, 4 NGL Pipelines, and 7 Propane Storage and Distribution Terminals. ​ Scott also guest lectures on Gas Processing Engineering at CSU and Petroleum Engineering at CU.  He was a volunteer on the METEC Industry Advisor Board at CSU investigating qualitative means to measure methane emissions and sat on the Executive Technical Committee for the Gas Processors Association.
