AJ Castaneda
DrillChem, Sr. Project Engineer
AJ is originally from the central coast of California and attended the Colorado School of Mines where he studied Petroleum Engineering. Upon graduation, he started work as a Drilling Engineer in the Williston Basin of North Dakota (ND) with WPX Energy then moved into a Production Engineering role in the Piceance Basin asset in western Colorado. During the downturn, AJ changed roles and worked as a wellsite geologist and geosteerer in West Texas (WTX) and ND eventually becoming the coordinator of field operations for Field Geo-Services in WTX. In 2017, he started with DrilChem and has performed applications in the field across the US and China. Since then, AJ has become the Sr. Project Engineer overseeing applications and meeting with customers to develop solutions for complex problems whether its drilling, completions, or production. His background in a multitude of disciplines equips him with an extensive knowledge base that allows him to solve complex problems that our customers face.
